Welcome to my scientific website - for almost four decades, science was at the centre of my professional life. Since my first research in the Amazon in 1986, I have worked on tropical floodplains and wetlands, particularly on the ecology and adaptations of plants in environments shaped by changing water levels.
Today, as I am no longer employed by a university or research institute, much of this scientific history is no longer visible on an institutional website. Yet I am often asked about my research, my scientific career and my publications.
This website brings that work together: my scientific background, research interests, publications and the projects and collaborations that have shaped my life as a tropical ecologist.
